Pensacola, NC is a very tiny area near Burnsville with roughly 450 homes pre Helene. Post Helene, there were roughly 350 homes left. The mud slides knocked homes off their foundation then the river washed them away.
This particular house was moved 50 yards by the mud slide and partially hangs over a cliff and is a total loss.
We were told her insurance company would not pay, FEMA would not help much, so she was left at the mercy of volunteer groups such as Mission Recovery to help her find a housing solution.
Jeff and his team are converting her barn into a home .
Jeff contacted us, and we provided new flooring and a vanity for her bathroom..
It's because of organizations as Jeff's that we are able to bless others in their season of need.
Pensacola is in DIRE NEED of rebuilding and restoration. Not much rebuilding is happening right now there.
Contact Mission Recovery for ways you can help rebuild this all but forgotten community. They need you and I.

Our reach goes beyond Asheville into TN to areas affected by Hurricane Helene.
This lady had so much water damage to her home it had to be gutted, mucked out and rebuilt using what was salvageable.
She was blessed by the generosity of Mercury One through Somebody Cares Asheville with a brand a new LG Appliance set fully donated.
She was overjoyed when Lowes delivered and installed this for her this week.
HNDS and FT ministries out of TN have done a fabulous job rebuilding her home and connecting with us for appliances and flooring.
We are grateful for our many partners throughout the region.
Little is much when God is in it!!!

5. Upon pick up, you must provide your own labor and transportation, we cannot deliver material. We will provide forklift help
6. You must show up on time for your scheduled pickup, our time is valuable as well as yours and we cannot hold material.

UPDATE!!!!
I actually had someone in our network going to the same place and will assist!
Bella Helene and I are on our 2nd mission of the day...
We had trucks fall off due to the flooding of our neighbors to the north so we are doing this by hand one bundle at a time!

Big shout out to Tony from Heartland Outlet and Asheville City Church for hooking us up with flooring to finish up temporary homes being built by the Amish in Rutherford County as well as a damaged homes in Bat Cave!

Also we now have shingles to repair to homes with damaged roofs in Bat Cave!!
I really could use bigger truck or trailer. Just throwing that out there so if anyone is in Arden right now or this afternoon and willing to help me get this material 4 miles down the road I would be grateful!
Together is how this gets done - * excited with Robby Ammons from AVL City Chuch

Thanks!
Carl Pitt

It’s been a few months post Helene and there’s still so much work to be done. The need is still so great, but our God is faithful and has continued to provide as we navigate the next phase of recovery.

On behalf of myself, AVL City Church, and the communities in Western North Carolina affected by Hurricane Helene, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to our donors and partners for their generous support and commitment to continued relief efforts. Your faith and dedication to provide aid, comfort, and hope during this challenging time has made a profound difference in the lives of those who were impacted by the storm.

Thanks to Somebody Cares, Somebody Cares Baltimore, and Heartland Outlet’s compassionate efforts to provide much needed relief supplies, many individuals and families are beginning the long process of recovery. We are incredibly grateful for your continued support, and we are encouraged by your unwavering service to those in need.

We look forward to continuing to work together as we rebuild and heal our community! Thank you!

“Be devoted to one another with [authentic] brotherly affection [as members of one family], give preference to one another in honor; never lagging behind in diligence; aglow in the Spirit, enthusiastically serving the Lord; constantly rejoicing in hope [because of our confidence in Christ], steadfast and patient in distress, devoted to prayer [continually seeking wisdom, guidance, and strength], contributing to the needs of God’s people; pursuing the practice of hospitality."
