The Color ME Brown Project We do so by building platforms to openly discuss concerns and issues through creative vehicles such as film, art, and spoken word.

The Color ME Brown Project is a non-profit organization with a mission to empower and support the Black and Latino communities as well as strengthen and inform its allies. Furthermore, The Color Me Brown Project connects people within these communities to resources and opportunities in order to better their livelihood. In April 2012 founder, Nicole Townsend, set out on to create a documentary to c

apture candid conversations within the "brown" communities of Asheville about their experiences, challenges and accomplishments. The documentary, "color ME brown: conversations with unmuted voices", was completed in August 2012 and has since been screened in various locations in North Carolina and Florida.
