The VFW renewed its push today to stop proposed changes to VA disability ratings for tinnitus and sleep apnea.
The VFW says the changes could reduce future disability compensation by about $57 billion over 10 years and affect up to 1.5 million veterans.
Current ratings would be protected, and the proposal has not become law. The VFW wants Congress to remove the provision from the veterans bill.

Well, here we are. October 1.

Some claimed that VA was definitely going to change the ratings for tinnitus and sleep apnea by the end of the fiscal year so Congress might as well spend those “savings” on TCAVA.

The VFW said the timeline didn’t add up and that a 2022 proposal wasn’t guaranteed to become the final rule as written.

So about those “savings”…

Protect veterans’ earned benefits. Pass TCAVA without making future veterans foot the bill.
