Finals week is just around the corner, and we know it can be one of the most stressful times of the year for our students. 📚

As a community, one of the best things we can do is remind them — and ourselves — that balance matters just as much as preparation.

We're sharing this great article on navigating finals week while protecting your mental health. Whether you're a student, a parent, or both, there's something useful in here. https://www.mhtech.com/blog/navigating-finals-week-while-maintaining-good-mental-health-95nzh

Every day is a great day to appreciate a teacher, but last week we made it official. We wrapped up teacher appreciation week with a fantastic "Gratitude-grab-and-go bar" filled with goodies and treat bags. In combination with all of the wonderful heart felt messages shared by our students, parents, and admin staff, we hope NDA's teachers saw just how appreciated they are.

Thank you to everyone who participated in making these events happen. Our community is stronger because of the teachers who show up for our students, and the community that shows up for them.

Teacher Appreciation Week is wrapping up, and we just have to say — our teachers absolutely deserve every single moment of it. 💛

On Wednesday, we treated our amazing staff to a full lunch buffet! Sandwiches, cheese & crackers, fresh fruit, drinks, and some seriously delicious desserts.

Then on Thursday, we brought the fun with our Trail Mix Bar! Teachers got to mix and mingle their own perfect snack combo from a lineup that included M&Ms, nuts, chocolate chips, pretzels, popcorn, and so much more. Because just like our teachers, no two combinations are the same — and every single one is amazing.

From popcorn to tacos to a lunch buffet to trail mix — this week has been a true celebration of the extraordinary people who pour their hearts into our students every day. We hope our NDA teachers have felt every bit of the love, gratitude, and appreciation that this community has for them.

To our teachers — you are the heart of this school. You challenge our kids to grow, cheer them on when things get hard, and celebrate every breakthrough along the way. Words cannot express how grateful we are for you. Thank you for everything you do. Now go enjoy that trail mix!

Teacher Appreciation Week is in full swing at NDA!

Our incredible teachers show up every single day — inspiring, encouraging, and investing in our students in ways that go far beyond the classroom. This week, the NDA PTSO is taking every opportunity to show them just how loved and appreciated they are!

We kicked things off right on Monday by getting things POPPIN' 🍿 with sweet popcorn treats from for every teacher!

Then today, we brought the fiesta for Taco Tuesday! 🌮 Thanks to the incredible generosity of NDA parents, we were able to surprise every teacher with a gift card tucked inside the most adorable little taco-style cards. It was the perfect way to say "We're grateful for everything you do!"

A huge heartfelt thank you to the NDA parent community — your generosity and support are what make moments like these possible.

The PTSO is just getting started - there are more surprises in store for our teachers every day this week, so stay tuned!

To every teacher at Nesbitt Discovery Academy — THANK YOU. We hope that you feel seen, celebrated, and deeply appreciated.

Shape the Future at Nesbitt Discovery Academy — Join the PTSO Board!
Are you the parent of a current freshman or sophomore? Now is the perfect time to get involved! The NDA PTSO is looking for passionate, dedicated parents to fill several open board positions for next year — and your involvement makes a real difference in your student's high school experience.

Serving on the board is a meaningful way to connect with the school community, partner with NDA's administration, and help create the programs and events that make NDA special.

We're looking to fill the following positions:

🔹 President — The heart of the PTSO. The President coordinates the organization, serves as the primary liaison with NDA administration, and works with the Treasurer to oversee the budget and finances.

🔹 Vice President — Works closely with the President to coordinate membership, supports volunteer and recruitment efforts, and leads special projects as needed. This role is ideally suited for someone who is ready to step into the President position the following year — making for a smooth, consistent transition in leadership.

🔹 Communications Chair — The voice of the PTSO! This role manages our Remind, Instagram, and Facebook accounts, creates flyers, banners, and promotional materials, and helps raise community awareness of PTSO activities.

🔹 Fundraising Chair — Leads the charge on The Big Give, our annual fundraiser held at the start of the school year, and supports the executive board as needed.
