We were grateful to meet with Representative Kanika Brown during Legislative Day.

Strong communities start with healthy people, clean air and water, and access to the resources families need to thrive. We appreciated the opportunity to talk about the connections between community health, environmental justice, and protecting North Carolina’s forests.

Thank you for taking the time to listen, engage, and discuss solutions that can help build healthier communities across our state.

What is biomass, and how are communities pushing back against it?

At the NC Conservation Network Conference, Paige shared the basics of biomass, highlighted recent victories against biomass expansion, & offered practical lessons for advocates working to protect their communities and forests.

“Build a future that you want. Not just the one that you think you can get. That is how our movement stays inspired.”

Real change starts with a vision of what is possible. Watch to learn more about the growing movement for old growth forests, clean air, & community-led solutions.

Paige is always staying connected to the conversations shaping the future of forests, communities, and climate solutions. Last month was no different as she joined leaders from across North Carolina at the NC Conservation Network Conference 2026.

From sharing ideas to building partnerships, gatherings like these help strengthen the movement. We're proud to have Paige representing Dogwood Alliance and helping move important conversations forward.

Ending wildlife protections in the name of energy production puts all of us at risk.

Birds, bats, & insects are disappearing at alarming rates, & their loss affects far more than one species. They pollinate our food, help control disease, break down waste, & keep ecosystems in balance.

When we weaken protections for endangered species & their habitats, we threaten the natural systems we all depend on.
