The Mountain Retreat, minutes from the vibrant little city of Asheville, North Carolina ("Paris of the South" & Fodor's #1 Destination 2011), will open its doors to residents on August 1, 2011, offering 4 guestrooms, each equipped with queen or full-sized bed, built-in closet, nightstand, and desk & chair -- 2 guestrooms & a bathroom on each floor: The Gertrude Stein & Dorothy Parker rooms on the

upper floor, The Franz Kafka & Donald Barthelme rooms on the lower. Wireless Internet service included. Next summer and thereafter, the retreat will open officially on August 1st, though short stays may be possible in July. We were the first guests at the B&B/Retreat. Beautiful house, beautiful mountain, beautiful hostess. The first two of these are quiet; the third is a wonderful talker. And the cats–we love ‘em.–Paul and Marti Sampson
