Tou has been recording the last moments of canines at the Taoyuan Animal Shelter for two years. He has captured the images of some 400 dogs, most of which were pets abandoned by their owners. To him the work is distressing, but he's trying to spread a message of responsibility.

TAOYUAN, Taiwan — The photographer gingerly places a small, mixed-breed puppy on a platform in his makeshift studio at an animal shelter in northern Taiwan. The dog looks about 2 months old, with alert, trusting eyes and a shiny black coat.

Dear friends, this girl was found in south Asheville area. We think she has a home becuase she has on a collar and is fixed but no microchipping so we can't find owner. Do you know of anyone missing their dog possibly from fireworks last night? Can you help share to try and find her home? Please contact me via FB message if you know anything.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support homeless pets in our community at Brother Wolf Animal Rescue Run for the Paws! We had well over 400 walkers and runners with amazing sponsor, vendor, staff and volunteer support!
