Asheville Youth Mission

Asheville Youth Mission We are a place where mission, creativity are happening with young people Housing is provided (indoor camping style) as well as most meals.

There are 3 kinds of Mission Immersion programs that we provide:

Summer Weeks: A Sunday evening to Friday morning program that includes volunteering at 4 to 6 worksites and debriefing programs that include Bible study, group discussion, and art projects as a means of reflection. Towards the end of the week groups will be led in an urban awareness walk, discernment of a plan on how to “take the ex

perience home” with them, and a closing worship. Mission Weekends: A Friday evening to Sunday morning program that includes volunteering at a ministry worksite, an urban awareness walk, an evening debriefing program, and a morning worship. Housing is provided (indoor camping style) as well as meals. ⭐ Introducing our Summer Interns ⭐

Meet Dibby, an Asheville Youth Mission intern and sophomore (Biosystems Engineering) at Clemson University!

Regarding this summer at AYM, Dibby writes, "I’m pretty easily excited, but I’m especially excited to get to know a bunch of people and to learn what YMCo is all about! I’m also excited, of course, to be in Asheville in the little mountains—I love being outdoors and I might sneak off to hike on free weekends. I like doing creative things whether that’s drawing, singing, playing music (drums, ukulele), or just having funky ideas. Overall I’m easygoing and ready to talk to anyone—can’t wait to start this summer!"

Big news!!! We’re grateful for the investments First Presbyterian Church Asheville NC has made in our program!

Our much-anticipated shower project is officially underway!

Thanks to the generosity of multiple donors, crews are currently installing four shower stalls in the space below the chapel, formerly occupied by a small apartment.

Construction will be completed sometime this spring, and the showers will serve groups visiting through Asheville Youth Mission and other ministries.
