Bent Creek Community Park is a family friendly park located in the neighborhood of Bent Creek in Asheville, NC. We are a grassroots organization, operating strictly on dontations and the cooperation and hard work of our neighbors and friends.

The annual chili cookoff, where neighbors compete for the covered golden laddle, eat delicious chili; and vote for well, the chili and select park board members. Happy Fall Y’all!

After all the work it took; it brings so much joy to hear park visitors comment on the new pavilion.
I was walking by today and three little girls were walking by, it must have been a few months since they visited. I heard their excitement as they said:
“Look it’s new!”
“And it has lights!”
“And a water fountain”.
Thank you for appreciating the hard work.

Thank you to everyone who came out last Saturday to help at the Spring Work Day! We got a lot done, had a lot of fun, and the park is looking great! Working together is one of the many reasons this community is so special. Bent Creek Rocks!

Hi Neighbors,

Dropping in to give a 📢SHOUTOUT📢 to the Bent Creek Park - Teen Leadership Committee!

Their most recent contributions include building the new soccer goals down by the apple orchard and adding a storage box for balls at the basketball court. Thank you to those who helped with these improvements!

The TLC is comprised of teens (age 13+) that live in our BC neighborhood & have a desire & willingness to give back to their community through hard work & play! Current duties include but are not limited to: monthly roadside cleanup of Pole Creaseman, Park event setup/cleanup as needed, assisting at Park work days, helping organize & implement fundraising events for the Park, being good stewards of the Park & neighborhood at large, & being excellent role models for younger kids. It’s a fantastic way for our teens to give back to their community & for them to feel valued and appreciated. It’s also a great resume builder and way to earn volunteer community service hours for those looking to boost their work or college resumes! If you have a teen that is interested and willing to participate, please contact Corey Jacobson or Heather George via Facebook messenger. We use What’s App for our teens to communicate and organize all BCP TLC happenings!

Park Improvement Progress Update:

Hi Neighbors!

Carolina Water recently sent some employees out to do volunteer work at our park. They assisted with debris cleanup, tree trimming, and installed a new water fountain - which is accessible for kids, dogs, and water bottles!!💧🐕👍

Nate is making great progress with the pavilion! We are on track to have it completed for the Spring Fling where & will inaugurate the space with us! 🎶🕺🪩

REMINDER: Carolina Water Service will be working on debris clearing and minor improvement projects in the park tomorrow. For your safety, we recommend avoiding the park on Thursday 3/20.

Bent Creek Community Park Updates:

Hi BC Neighbors!

The 2025 BC Park Board had their monthly meeting last week and are excited to share a few updates with you:

🛖 We’ve broken ground on the new pavilion! The plan is to have it completed by May, but we’ll share more information as details are confirmed. This quick rebuild wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our neighbor Nate Ballinger, so please give him a big thank you if you see him!

🥳 We will be sharing this year’s event schedule and park fundraising plans very soon. Keep an eye out on our social media pages and your mailbox for the event flyer!

🚧 Please take caution in the park this week and pardon the mulch piles in the parking lot. Carolina Water Service will be coming out Thursday 3/20 with volunteers and machinery to do some free cleanup/improvement work for us. For safety, we recommend avoiding the park this day.

IMPORTANT PARK UPDATES:
🚜A big thank you to for cleaning up what was left of the pavilion.

🅿️ The debris has been placed on the parking area until the Army Corps can come pick it up.

🌳You will notice green and pink/red ribbons on some trees. Please instruct kids not to touch these!! The county has assessed the trees for your safety. Green labeled trees will get pruned where needed, pink labeled trees will be removed due to their condition.
