Grassroots projects often begin with community members ready to create change, but without 501(c)(3) status, securing funding or accessing grants can be a major barrier.

Through the Community Equity Fund, Eagle Market Streets offers fiscal sponsorship that helps emerging, community-led initiatives get off the ground. This support allows projects to receive tax-deductible donations and begin building impact—without the immediate need to form a standalone nonprofit.

It’s about removing barriers, investing in local leadership, and making space for bold ideas to move from vision into action.

Join us today for Juneteenth on The Block as we celebrate freedom, resilience, and Black history in the heart of our community.

On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, enslaved people in Galveston, Texas finally learned they were free. Juneteenth stands as a powerful reminder of liberation — and the ongoing journey toward justice, equity, and opportunity.

At Eagle Market Streets, this day holds deep meaning. Our work is rooted in preserving and uplifting the legacy of Black entrepreneurship, culture, and community that continues to shape our shared history.

Today’s celebration (10 AM – 8 PM | S. Market Street & Triangle Park) includes:
• Historic YMI tours
• Boosting the Block Luncheon & Dedication
• Ujamaa Black Vendor Marketplace
• Live music & DJ experiences
