ABOUT
DreamDance is about celebrating life and community by moving together as One. By uniting in a sacred space through sound, light, and beauty, we begin a dance journey of transformation, from personal to planetary and beyond. Beginning February 16, 2013, our local dance community of DreamDance Asheville will move in Sync with DreamDance Seattle to collectively support the rise of global consciousness. The ultimate vision is to hold monthly gatherings that serve as a local community-building tool. Offering an opportunity to join together within a shared energy field, illuminating the synchronized gatherings of local DreamDance nodes within the region, across the country, and eventually around the globe. The movement has begun...and through our commitment and local experience, we hope to support other regions who would like to join us to Rise Up and Celebrate! INTENTION
Although much focus is on movement through Dance, the activated interweavings of our community is an integral part of making this dream a reality. DreamDance will offer touch points for community to come together outside of the dance floor, through interpersonal social practice groups, shared meals, and hands-on skill building workshops, etc. DreamDance will embrace the container that inspires continuous connections within our community, ultimately weaving us all into a collective Dream. Whenever two or more hold a dream and move together as One with intention at the Heart, it creates resonance by tapping into other forms of awareness and higher frequencies. When we connect within this field, a strong pulse is generated between us. (((O))) The more we connect within the collective dreaming, the stronger the dream weaving. We dance knowing that our dreams create our reality. The vision behind DreamDance is to gather people together from all walks within. To offer a rich experience free from dogma in a highly creative, clean, spacious and beautiful environment. We honor the muse and the ground we dance on. This is an invitation to explore the vast nature of one's own being. By opening to the power of music and free form movement, deep transformation and inspiration can take place. MINDFULNESS OF THE SPACE AND JOURNEY
We encourage minimal to no talking on the dance floor, as this allows for us to hold our intentions and access deeper subtle states of awareness while we dance. We do however provide a lush infusion lounge for quiet, mindful conversation over ceremonial tea from the Far East. Honoring individual intentions and the desire for creative, spiritual freedom, DreamDance unites us all through a musical experiment, blending ancient and modern dance music, meditative soundscapes and inspiring art. The music is artfully crafted by the musicians and shaped by the energy output of the dancers. It is designed with a slow building trajectory, including a variety of genres from sacred world and medicine songs to classics and cutting edge genre bending electronica. We hope to include sacred instruments to enhance the sonic journey. COMMUNITY
With live art and local artists displaying their work around the space, DreamDance becomes a hub of creative expression and celebration. We are currently collaborating with painters, www.facebook.com/infusionlounge.org, metal sculptures, contact dancers, yogis, and plenty more inspiring community members. As an initial social spiritual experiment, we see the potential for this dance to evolve with us over time. We welcome and encourage your feedback along the way.
