Givens Home First was proud to participate in the Second Age-Friendly Summit: Health Span Matters: Thriving Across the Years in Asheville. Our team enjoyed connecting with community members and sharing how our home care and aging-in-place services help older adults remain safe, independent, and engaged in the comfort of their own homes.

At Givens Home First, we believe healthy aging is about more than healthcare—it’s about supporting wellbeing, maintaining connections, and providing peace of mind for older adults and their families. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn more about the resources available to help older adults thrive at home.

Happy National Nurses Week! 💙 (May 6–12)

This week, we’re proud to celebrate our incredible Givens Home First nurses.

Their compassion, dedication, and expertise make a difference in the lives of the clients and families we serve every single day—and we are so grateful for the care they bring to our community.

💫 We had such a great time at the 20th Annual Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce 5K!

As a proud presenting sponsor alongside Eaton, it was an honor to be part of an event that brings over 700 people together to celebrate wellness, connection, and community.

Our Executive Director, Jessie Bosshard, had the opportunity to share a few words on behalf of Givens Communities and to recognize all the runners and walkers who showed up and gave it their all.

Congratulations to Resources for Resilience on receiving the Good Health Good Business Award - so well deserved (we loved having you all join last year’s caregiver retreat and often lean on your rapid resets!)

We’re also especially proud of our Givens Highland Farms Nurse Navigator, Karina, who took home an award today 👏

This is what it’s all about - showing up, staying active, and building community in ways that support how we all live and age.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by, said hello, and helped make it such a great event.

One of the most fun moments from our retreat was a game we called “Don’t Put Me in a Box.”

We uncovered some hidden (and not-so-hidden) truths about our team—
✔️ Who has tattoos,
✔️ Who has a secret talent,
✔️ Who loves the rain,
✔️ Who talks to themselves…

And the final question: who’s on the Home First team? 👀

It was a great reminder that we’re all more than our roles - and that getting to know each other beyond the day-to-day matters.

Check out the photos to see if you can match the stories to the faces.

💫 Our annual team retreat was a success!!

It was a meaningful time to connect, learn, and spend time together outside of the day-to-day. We enjoyed a special presentation from our Longevity and Brain Health Director, a helpful refresher on HIPAA from our Medical Records Director on what to do and what to avoid - and so much more.

Grateful for this team and the care they bring to their work every day.
