Our Transition to Adulthood: What’s Next? event is happening TODAY!! See you later!

Youth, young adults, families, caregivers, educators, and community members are invited to join us for an evening focused on what comes next after high school as transition to adulthood occurs.

Explore resources, meet community organizations, ask questions, and make connections, all while enjoying food and fun activities!

Looking for a meaningful way to give back? 🌸💐

Blooms of Kindness brings volunteers together to repurpose flowers and create beautiful arrangements that are shared with individuals in healthcare facilities, spreading a little joy and connection along the way.

💛 Volunteer opportunities are available on Mondays from 10 AM–1 PM at AmeriHealth Caritas in Asheville. Friends are welcome too, just be sure everyone registers!

The YMCA of Western North Carolina is offering FREE Youth Mental Health First Aid training to help caring adults build practical skills to listen, support, and empower youth.

Whether you’re a parent, caregiver, educator, coach, or another trusted adult, this is a great opportunity to add more tools to your toolbox. 💛

Empathy can grow. 💙 It’s okay to recognize that sometimes our empathy comes more easily for people we relate to or understand. What matters is being willing to notice it and keep expanding our perspective.

Whole empathy means making room for experiences that may look different from our own. For people with disabilities, that can mean listening without judgment, challenging assumptions, and recognizing that everyone deserves understanding, dignity, and belonging.

At FIRSTwnc, that’s part of the work we strive toward every day: creating communities where people of all abilities are valued and included. 💛
