Asheville Amblers Walking Club The Asheville Amblers is part of the American Volkssport Association (AVA), a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing Fun, Fitness and Friends

If you like walking and other non-competitive sporting events, you are in the right place. The Asheville Amblers Walking Club hosts numerous events throughout the year, all of which are open to everyone regardless of age or athletic ability. We invite you to attend as many as you like. Walking events take place throughout the
year. Historic and scenic sites are selected for their enjoyment. Trails

are carefully laid out and marked and easy to follow directions or maps are provided. Trails are rated based upon the challenge the
route presents. The designated Start Point is open for several hours to allow you to begin your walking adventure at your leisure. Trails
have checkpoints along the route and are
monitored for security and safety. Frequently walkers will gather at the Finish Point where they take time to enjoy friends, and at some events, entertainment or refreshments.

Bob and I just returned from a vacation in Valencia, Spain. And - to our surprise - we found this statue of the architect Rafael Guastavino in one of the plazas. He was born in Spain, but moved to the US and died in Asheville! His work is famous in Asheville as he worked on the Biltmore Estate and the Basilica. We never dreamed we would find an Asheville connection in Spain!
