A note from Ms. Misti, our educator extraordinaire!

"We got as much sunshine time as possible all week. It was perfect leaf playing, tree climbing, mud making, nature creating weather!

We used the Wonderful weather to finish up our walnut and acorn dying. They turned out so amazingly well. What a great experience for the kids to see. We harvested the nuts, processed them, waited patiently for the dye to set. Then waited more for the weather to cooperate. Finally, mixed the mordant, decided if they wanted to tie circles, and then they see the outcome!"

What have Whimsical kids been up to this fall? How about a unit on veterinary science? Maybe plant uses (weaving, dyes, foods, medicines), differentiated math, poetry, country studies, symmetry, portrait art, gardening, map studies, and music! These students are busy learning and growing, all while foraging new friendships. 😃🥰

September is over, but the year has just begun! What an amazing start to the year. Students have been creatively exploring so many concepts, including Ireland, famous portrait artists, the science of mass (with acorns), perception, emotion, poetry, and even edible art!
