Raising Cane is a 4-year-old, 115 lb Cane Corso who is currently urgent and must have CONFIRMED PLACEMENT WITH A RESCUE PARTNER by Friday, April 24th at 10AM.

• House-trained
• Affectionate, gentle giant once comfortable

• Has shown interest in other dogs

Raising Cane arrived after being found loose and has been trying to adjust to the overwhelming shelter environment. He is a sensitive boy who can be fearful with new situations, but with patience, he relaxes and shows his sweet, loving personality. Volunteers describe him as a “gentle giant” who seeks affection and enjoys human connection.

I met this cutie on a virtual call yesterday and couldn’t believe that she hasn’t found an adopter yet! Read about her here:

Pennsylvania is looking for a fun, adventurous and playful family who is excited to continue helping her learn about the world and give her the joyful, active life every puppy deserves. With her big personality, loving heart and endless enthusiasm for life, Penny is ready to be someone’s very best adventure buddy.

Penny loves to play and would happily spend hours chasing a ball and bringing it right back for another throw. If she had to pick her favorite thing, it might just be playing with other dogs! Since being in foster care, she has met and played with many different dogs and has done wonderfully with both male and female dogs.

Penny is a busy, happy puppy who enjoys a routine. Her day starts bright and early with morning playtime, followed by breakfast, which she eagerly waits for in her crate. After a full day of adventures and activity, she’s ready to settle in for dinner and a cozy night.

Penny loves people just as much as she loves dogs. She greets everyone with an adorable, submissive puppy wiggle before quickly moving in for all the love and attention she can get. If you’re sitting down, don’t be surprised if she wants to be right next to you — or even in your lap.

Wilkes-Barre area: Meet Precious! This beautiful, sweet 2 year old pup could use some help finding a safe, stable forever home.

Precious is an extremely sweet and affectionate girl with a calm personality. She is housebroken. On walks, she has shown friendly curiosity toward other dogs through fences. When encountering cats, she has also shown curiosity but has never lived with cats. She has previously lived with small children.

Yams is a 4-year-old, 46 lb mixed-breed girl who is currently urgent and at risk due to medical concerns. She must have CONFIRMED PLACEMENT WITH A RESCUE PARTNER by Saturday, January 17th at 10AM.

✨ ABOUT YAMS:
• Female | 46.2 lbs | Gold behavior level
• Appears housebroken
• Friendly, affectionate, people-loving
• Loves cuddling and gentle attention
• Can be left alone during the workday
• Easy on leash and very social with people

Yams spent several months in foster care and did well in a home environment. She is described as sweet, calm, and cuddly. Recent incidents suggest she may do best as an only dog or possibly with a compatible male dog.

🩺 MEDICAL NEEDS:
Yams has bilateral cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) ruptures with secondary osteoarthritis and will require TPLO surgery on both hind legs.

BALDWIN, MD: Meet Bram! This 115 lb hunk of love is a BIG sweetheart with an even bigger heart. He’s been at the shelter far too long and urgently needs an adopter, foster, or rescue. Bram loves people, leans in for affection, and happily charges a “belly rub tax.” Please share!

Location: Baltimore County Animal Services (BCAS)

Bram is strong on leash and needs a patient, consistent person to help him improve his walking skills. He LOVES sniff walks and stays right by your side when treats are involved! He’s very friendly, great with kids, and soaking up attention is truly his favorite hobby.

With other dogs, Bram shows interest but can enter play with high energy and excitement. He’s still learning corrections, so slow intros and careful management are needed at first.

Bram recently attended a busy event and was a total star — calm, social, well-behaved with children, and great in the car. He has healed from a partial tail amputation and is currently being monitored for a mild paw strain while on medication. What he needs most now is a home.

PHILADELPHIA, PA: Meet Cheeto (ACCT-A-236196)!
$100 in pledges for the rescue that pulls!
TIMESTAMPED FOR MONDAY 11/24 at 10AM

Cheeto is URGENT and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space. He must have a confirmed adopter or rescue partner by MONDAY 11/24 at 10AM.

Cheeto (47.5 lbs, approx. 2–4 yrs) arrived as a stray on 11/2. The finder reported him friendly, gentle with kids, and comfortable around stray cats. He was frightened at intake—trembling and wide-eyed—but has slowly begun to open up. With patience he now takes gentle treats, enjoys yard time, checks in with handlers, walks well for volunteers, and has met multiple dogs successfully. His soft spirit shines through more each day.

Cheeto would do best in an adult-only, experienced home where family and resident dogs can meet him slowly. Please bring all household members for a meet.

• Now being treated for a complicated URI; on enrofloxacin + doxycycline.
• Neutered 11/5.
• Given gabapentin for shelter-related fear/stress.

This gentle, timid boy has tried so hard — please help him find a calm home where he can keep growing in confidence.

🎉What a fantastic Google alert to get!

This is AMAZING!! PG county was one of the long-standing breed bans that we've been fighting against since day one of Pinups for Pitbulls! What an incredible demonstration of grit, patience, and determination for every organization and community member involved. Every call, every letter, every email, every protest, every council meeting, every court date... It all led to this and now the dogs of PG County MD will be better off for it ❤️🐾

🐶We CAN make a change! We CAN stand together against what is wrong. And we CAN do it as a community🐶

PHILADELPHIA, PA: Meet Tora (ACCT-A-219916)!
TIMESTAMPED for SATURDAY, November 8.
$1,460 in pledges for the rescue that pulls

Tora was found as a stray, tied to a fence, and arrived underweight with some skin irritation. Despite everything she’s been through, she handles life with patience and grace. Tora is housed in our front-and-center kennel, A1, where she’s surrounded by activity — yet she remains friendly, well-behaved, and eager to connect with people.

Tora was adopted in October but returned after two weeks due to an altercation with a cat. She is described as aggressive toward small dogs and cats in a home setting. While she has had good dog meets in the shelter, her ideal home is without smaller pets.

This sweet girl loves her treats, gets silly with play bows, enjoys toys, is working on housetraining, and looks forward to walks. Tora is patiently waiting for a compassionate home to help her heal and thrive.

💔 Tora must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER or ADOPTER by 10AM SATURDAY, November 8.
Euthanasia may occur before the timestamp, so it’s imperative to let the shelter know if you are considering adopting or tagging.
