What a joy to celebrate the grand reopening of the Big Ivy Community Center pool today!
As we stood together celebrating this milestone, I couldn’t help but reflect on God’s faithfulness. Since Hurricane Helene, we have watched Him work through countless volunteers, churches, businesses, and generous supporters to help rebuild not only homes, but lives. What the enemy meant for destruction, God has continued to use for hope, healing, and restoration.
At Asheville Dream Center we are passionate about serving children and families, and we are incredibly grateful for our partnership with the Big Ivy Community Center as we prepare for another amazing summer camp. For many of these children, camp is more than just a week of fun—it is a place where they experience love, encouragement, friendship, and the hope of Jesus.

Here is a beautiful reminder that when a community comes together, lives are changed. ❤️

With the help of incredible volunteers, special guests Quartermaster Tax, and the Sunshine Sammies Ice Cream Sandwich Truck, we were able to build and deliver 7 Dream Rooms—including 5 rooms for children who now have a safe, comfortable place to sleep.

One of the most powerful moments of the day was watching the children receive their very own bed for the very first time. 🛏️✨

At Asheville Dream Center, we exist to make Jesus known and inspire people to serve. Every volunteer, every donation, every act of kindness helps bring hope, dignity, and love to families in our community.

Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can be the hands and feet of Jesus.

A huge thank you to the amazing team at Flat Creek Plant Farm for sponsoring our BBQ and Bluegrass Fundraiser and helping make summer camp possible for the kids of Barnardsville.

Their generosity is helping provide a summer filled with fun, friendship, encouragement, and memories that many of our children will carry with them for years to come.

There is nothing more sacred than a child encountering Jesus and beginning to hide God’s Word in their heart.♥️
This week, we’re so thankful for the incredible volunteers who took time to sit with kids, share the love of Jesus, and remind them of their value and purpose.
At the Dream Center, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to have a Bible of their own—Whether it’s an Action Bible or a Creative Bible, we want every child to have the opportunity to know God’s Word for themselves.
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.” (Psalm 1:1-2)

What an incredible day in Barnardsville!

Asheville Dream Center wants to say a huge thank you to the amazing team from Duke Energy for once again showing up to serve our community. Your continued commitment, generosity, and willingness to help make such a difference in the lives of our families.

Today was especially meaningful as the team helped one of our sweet residents move into her new home and completed some of the final touches that made it truly feel like home. Watching her begin this new chapter was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when people come together to love and serve others.

Thank you, Duke Energy, for not just helping rebuild homes, but for helping restore hope. We are so grateful for your partnership and for the many ways you continue to invest in the people of Barnardsville.
And huge thanks to Robert Knight for making it all happen!

Every time we look at the list of kids registered for summer camp, our hearts are reminded why this matters so much.

For many of these children, camp will be the highlight of their summer. It’s not just a week of games, crafts, swimming, and laughter—it may be the only “vacation,” the only special experience, and the only chance they have to simply be kids and make unforgettable memories.

That’s why we need your help.
