We are incredibly fortunate to benefit from donations from Blue Buffalo. So much is being asked of firefighters and the first responder community right now, we are glad that donors help us make things just a small bit better.

THANK YOU Blue Buffalo! This food will feed our service dogs in-training and facility dogs for an entire year. We are so very, very grateful!

There when needed!

When we agreed to place a facility dog in one of Asheville Fire’s stations, we knew we were being invited into a special relationship. This firefighter-led effort has given us an opportunity to extend support during a likely difficult period of time.

Research published in January 2020 that included survey responses from Asheville firefighters expresses:

“Study results suggest the importance of addressing the needs of firefighters who experience PTSD symptoms at levels below that of clinical diagnosis.”

If a simple tail wag, a kind gaze or a friendly game of fetch contributes to the well-being of those on the front lines of this pandemic, we are grateful to have played a role.
