NEEDS & A STORY ABOUT OUR BLESSING BOX – 𝐖𝐄 𝐂𝐔𝐑𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐋𝐘 𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐬, 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐬 (𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐚), 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐬/𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞, 𝐏𝐁&𝐉, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬.

Where did idea for the very first Blessing Box come from? The idea seems to be as old as 1953! Skyland UMC opened our first Blessing Box in July, 2020 during the pandemic. Since then, we’ve added a second Blessing Box location. Each week a church member(s) makes time to check and refill the boxes. Think of them as mini pantries – that those in need can access without mounds of paperwork or the embarrassment that sometimes come with sharing your needs.

Every Saturday from 9:30 until 11:00, come pick up garden-fresh veggies! This week’s vegetables are yellow squash, zucchini, and kale! 🙌

EVERY SATURDAY BEGINNING THIS WEEK!
Skyland UMC's Community Garden will be offering their harvest for anyone in our community who is interested!

Stay in your car under the drive-thru awning, choose from what we have, and let us pack it and walk it to you!

9:30-11:00 A.M.

This week's harvest is yellow squash, zucchini, and kale!

Our Blessing Box has been officially Blessed by our Pastors! If you or someone you know could use a few items, stop by and check it out!

If you or someone you know would like to leave a few items, stop by and put some in!

Too full? There is a donation box on the ramp by the front of the church you can leave your items in and we will put them in our pantry for later! 💕🙌

Our Blessing Box food pantry is
nearing completion and plans are underway for its installation, blessing,
and opening day! We'd like to get started with a base supply of items for our
pantry, so to stock our shelves we will have a 𝘿𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚-𝙏𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝘿𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚
on 𝙏𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙙𝙖𝙮, 𝙅𝙪𝙡𝙮 2, 8:00 𝙖.𝙢.-12:00 𝙣𝙤𝙤𝙣. You can simply pull into the
covered drop-off area (mask wearing preferred) and a masked volunteer
will accept your donations. A list of suggested items is below. If this time
doesn't work for you, please email Patty at [email protected] and we'll
make other arrangements. Hope to see you on July 2, and thank you for
helping to launch this new ministry for our community!

Our little blue Blessing Box will be in the ground next week beside our little blue house! If you haven’t been on our property before, you can’t miss it! Turn left at Dunkin Donuts(if Dunkin is on your right..), and as you turn right into our parking lot it’s immediately on the left. See you soon!
