Meet the speaker behind next month's Randolph Economic Outlook! 👋

On September 16, 2026, we're excited to welcome Dr. Christopher Geczy of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania to Randolph County.

Dr. Geczy brings more than two decades of experience in investment management, financial markets, and wealth management, along with extensive experience advising institutional investors, financial professionals, and organizations.

He'll share his perspective on the current economic environment, trends shaping financial markets, and what those trends could mean for businesses and investors in the months ahead. The event will also include a live Q&A opportunity.

Why does this matter here in Randolph County? Because what happens beyond our community can influence the decisions we make within it, from business investment and expansion to workforce decisions and opportunities for growth.

We're proud to co-host this event with Randolph County Economic Development Corporation and bring this level of insight to our local business and community leaders.

Member Monday: Briles Oil and Gas, Inc.

This family-owned company delivers propane, heating oil, diesel fuel, and commercial fuels to homes and businesses across Randolph County and beyond. But what really makes them stand out is something you notice the moment you call: a real person from right here in the community picks up the phone. Not a call center. Not another state. A neighbor.

The people of Briles Oil & Gas aren’t just employees; they’re from Asheboro, Ramseur, Denton, and the communities in between. That local connection runs through everything they do.

Over 60 years of keeping homes warm and businesses running. We’re proud to recognize them as this week’s Member Monday. 🙌

No otro estado.

✨ A new legacy is dancing its way into Downtown Asheboro Inc. ! ✨

Yesterday, we celebrated the ribbon-cutting for Legacy Dance Connection : a new, family-owned dance studio bringing passion, training, and a welcoming space for dancers of all ages and experience levels to Asheboro.

Led by mother-daughter duo Melanie and Haygan Haynes, Legacy Dance Connection was created with a simple but meaningful philosophy: meet every dancer where they are and help them grow from there. Whether they’re dancing just for fun or dreaming of taking their talents further, everyone is welcome. 💛

We’re excited to see the impact Legacy Dance Connection will have on our community and to watch their story and their legacy unfold right here in downtown Asheboro.

Congratulations, Legacy Dance Connection! We can’t wait to see the memories and milestones created in this new space.🩰✨

¡Felicidades a Legacy Dance Connection! 🩰✨

We are saddened by the passing of George Washington Gusler Jr., a longtime community leader and former Executive Vice President of the Asheboro/Randolph Chamber of Commerce.

George dedicated more than two decades to the Chamber and to the Asheboro/Randolph community. During his tenure, he helped shape many programs and traditions that continue to have an impact today, including Leadership Randolph, the Asheboro Christmas Parade, the Chamber Golf Tournament, and the Asheboro/Randolph Business Showcase.

His commitment to our business community extended far beyond the Chamber. George served on numerous community boards and organizations, including Randolph County United Way, the YMCA, the NC Telephone Association, and the Randolph Community College Foundation Board.

We are grateful for the lasting contributions George made to our community and for the many lives he touched through his leadership, service, and friendship.

Our thoughts are with his family and all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to a favorite charity or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in George’s memory. ❤️

Member Monday: Native Son Vineyard & Farm 🍇🌄

Native Son Vineyard grows muscadines, America’s first grape, with views of the Uwharrie Mountains that have captured more than a few cameras. No pesticides, rescue animals roaming the property, and wines, jams, and jellies made from some of the most storied grapes in American history. Muscadines are also known for their impressive levels of resveratrol and antioxidants, making them one of the century’s top health foods.

This is the kind of place you need to see for yourself. Visits are by appointment, so plan ahead and make a day of it. 🙌
