We are partnering with the Little River County Extension office on our Pop Tab Challenge! These tiny tabs are recycled, converted to cash, and 100% of the funds received help support families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.

Starting November 18th, 2025, the Little River County Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee is partnering with the Little River County Extension Office and the Blue Jeans Go Green Program to recycle blue jeans back to their original state. If you have any old jeans (or any old denim, just not covered in diesel!) that you would like to get rid of, please take them to one of our drop-off locations for us to pick up.

The Women’s Committee was honored to present checks for needed school supplies on behalf of Little River County Farm Bureau to both Oscar Hamilton Elementary-Foreman as well as Ashdown Elementary School this month.

Paula Jewell, Donna Fricks and Debbie McKinney of the LRC Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee judged the Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation’s sponsored Rice is Nice and Dairy Foods contests last Saturday. The event was hosted and presented by the Little River County Extension office, Family Consumer Science/4H Agent Ashley Elmore and Agriculture Agent Jennifer Sansom. Little River County elected to hold a Cloverbud (ages 5-8) contest as well as a contest for Juniors and Seniors ages 9-19.

The winner of both the Rice is Nice and the Dairy Foods Cloverbud contests was Kolbee W. of Ashdown.

The winner of both the Rice is Nice and the Dairy Foods Junior/Senior contest was Ellie F. of Ashdown. Ellie is the daughter of LRC Farm Bureau members Jennifer Sansom and Derek Ford.

Congratulations to Lockeby Farms for being selected as the 2025 Little River County Farm Family of the Year! Lockeby Farms is made up of Shane and Kim Lockeby and their 3 sons and spouses, Cody and Alicia, Colin and Hannah, Caden and Aubrey as well as 4 of their granddaughters. Lockeby Farms owns and operates 8 egg houses integrated by Tyson as well as producing hay, and raising improved pecans in the Richmond community of Little River County.
