All other residences on Foster Road must be accessed from the Mason Road end.

As the temperatures drop, fireplaces and wood stoves are getting back to work. Today, our members trained on chimney fire response and ladder safety.

If you haven’t had your chimney cleaned and inspected yet, now is the time. A clean, properly maintained chimney can help prevent dangerous chimney fires and keep your family safe all season long.

Three hikers who became lost on Mount Watatic were safely located and returned to their vehicles.

Our members train in land navigation and rescue coordination, skills that help prepare them to support our community when needed.

Most importantly, we’re grateful everyone made it home safely.

Ashby Fire Department was recently awarded $60,636.00 through FEMA’s Fiscal Year 2025 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG)!
Because our town does not have fire hydrants, getting enough water to a fire requires hauling it in with water trucks and pumping from local sources. To move those thousands of gallons quickly, we rely on heavy-duty supply hose we call large diameter hose. Currently, much of our large diameter hose dates back to the 1990s and is well past its lifespan.
This grant allows us to replace all of our aging hose with modern, reliable equipment without spending local taxpayer dollars. For you, that means faster, safer water delivery when every second counts, while taking good care of the community resources you entrust to us.

After 35 years of dedicated service to the town of Ashby, EMT Kari Rantala is hanging up his gear and beginning a well-deserved retirement.

Over the years, Kari served as EMS Captain and Co-Captain of an engine company, giving his time, experience, and heart to the department and the Ashby community.

Thank you for 35 years of friendship, service, and dedication. You’ve made a difference to so many, and you’ll always be a part of the Ashby Fire & EMS family.
