Friends of Ashby COA
Celebrates Earth Day

EARTH DAY PLANT SALE: This Saturday, April 25th, 2026 is again being celebrated as Earth Day around the world! In honor of that, The Friends of Ashby COA will once again be sponsoring a a booth for a Houseplant Sale and Membership Drive at the local celebration held at North Middlesex High School campus in Townsend, from 10-3pm. This is a major local event with lots of participants having booths at the fair.

We are soliciting all our members and friends who have extra houseplants (most of us have one or two too many, right?) or, who want to make cuttings of their plants for new starters, to bring them to the COA office, 1st floor, on this Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, April 21-23, anytime from 9 am to 1 pm.

We will then transport them to our booth at the Earth Day Fair Saturday morning, April 25th and find them new homes! (Or you can bring them to out table on Saturday if you are going!) And we hope many of you will join us and support the Fair-It’s a a fun day for all and a great fundraising event for The Friends! Thank you for your ongoing support. Please email any questions/suggestions to [email protected].

Calling all Ashby gardeners: our 5th annual Mason Brook- Ashby Gardeners Day this year will be Saturday, May 2nd from 9-4. If you identify yourself as an Ashby Resident that day, a percentage of all your plant purchases will be donated to the Friends of Ashby COA.
All your spring annuals, hanging baskets, perennials, shrubs and trees are included (pellets, mulch, etc. is excluded)
And if you round up your purchase price to the next dollar, they will donate that to us as well.
So, mark your calendars, Saturday May 2nd to get all your garden plants at Mason Brook Nursery to support the future activities of your Friends of Ashby COA
