Sandhills Chapter DAR was honored to have our State Regent Ann Cox and husband Mike attend our annual Soup Lunch and Bake Sale. Ann gave a very interesting program on facts of the signers of the Constitution.

Sandhills Chapter DAR re-dedicated a Real Daughters grave today at the Greenwood Cemetery in Chadron. The grave of Lucinda Sippy Hershey is beside her sisters grave with the Real Daughters marker which is absolutely beautiful. A beautiful program put together by Chapter Registrar, Ann Petersen, and presented by Chapter Regent, Kendra Burgess and Chaplain, Shirley Schuman. Chapter Treasurer, Susan Connell and Chapter Secretary, Sheri Jacobsen read the obituary of Lucinda and the service of her father. A lovely reception was offered following the dedication.

Recently a junior member of Sandhills Chapter completed her Masters Degree. Congratulations to Amanda Kroeger. Amanda just happens to be Ellen White s granddaughter. We are so proud of her.

We had our last meeting today until September at Fort Robinson. Started with lunch followed by a short meeting on the restaurant deck with the installation of new officers. We then went to tour the wonderful museum followed by a flag raising in honor of Flag Day in the 1870 playground. Before heading home Kendra, our new chapter Regent and I drove to a marker that Captain Christopher Robinson chapter erected where the Red Cloud Agency was. A wonderful day.

Had our May meeting today at Thedford..heard of all the winners of the JAC contest. All were state winners..most divisional winners and most national winners. Thanks to our chairman Kendra Burgess and the teacher Mrs. Volz. We also spent time planning the dedication of a Real Daughter and our next meeting at Fort Robinson on Flag Day. Following the meeting we decorated crosses to be put out on Veterans grave Memorial Day in Ashby and the State Veterans Cemetery in Alliance.

Sandhills Chapter DAR had a great meeting today with Ann Petersen and Shirley Schuman as hostesses. We celebrated a special birthday with cake witch followed a lovely luncheon. The meeting was productive with some planning on a few special events. Kendra and I traveled 125+ miles for the meeting in Valentine, along the way we stopped at the Historical Matker which Sandhills Chapter helped to erect and then went on into the Dty

Dry Valley Church. Along down the highway was a

Perfect display of our American Flag at a rancher turnoff.. on our way home we stopped in Mullen to present a retired nurse a certificate in honor of the Nursing Corps 125 year. A long day but so fun with our members.

Had a great meeting today with Mary, Sherie and Erin as hostess, three generations. A wonderful potluck luncheonvwas served. Several new projects were discussed for the upcoming year.
