Dear Hawthorne Brook Families,
Field Day 2026 is quickly approaching, and we are reaching out because we are in desperate need of additional support to make this event possible for all students.
As many of you know, Field Day is one of the biggest events of the year for our school community. It is a full day of activities, games, inflatables, treats, and fun for every student — and our goal has always been to keep this event completely free for families.
Unfortunately, fundraising has been extremely low this year. So far, only about a dozen families have donated toward Field Day expenses.
We completely understand that families are constantly being asked to contribute to many different organizations, teams, and events. However, we truly need additional help in order to make this event successful.
Field Day costs include:
• Inflatables
• Student & staff t-shirts
• Shaved ice truck
• Game supplies
• Popcorn & ice cream
• General event materials and supplies
We know some may wonder if the t-shirts are truly necessary, and the answer is absolutely yes. The shirts are essential to safely and successfully managing the entire school outdoors throughout the day.
The color-coded shirts allow us to:
• Quickly identify which grade students belong to
• Easily monitor groups as they rotate between stations
• Keep track of where students should be throughout the event
• Distinguish staff from volunteers to ensure proper coverage and supervision
The t-shirts are also our single biggest expense.
If you own a business, work for a business, or know someone who may be interested in sponsorship opportunities, please consider becoming a Field Day t-shirt sponsor. Sponsorships are a great way to promote local businesses while directly supporting our students.
We are also gratefully accepting donations of any amount to help offset event costs.
Please see the Field Day 2026 Cheddar Up for donation and sponsorship links. (https://2026-hbms-field-day.cheddarup.com)
At this point, if we are unable to raise enough funds by next Friday (May 22) we will have to make some very difficult decisions about what we can fund and what we will have to remove from the Field Day experience.
We truly appreciate any support you can provide and thank you for helping us continue this tradition for our students.
Thank you,
HBMS PTO
