Hump Day Hallelujah
…you have special powers

One of my favorite things about my job is being the School Chaplain. I often walk through the playground here at St. David's Episcopal Church and School to chat with the children. They recognize me as “Rev. Maureen, the God-lady, and various other ways they are making a connection 😉) . Today one of the girls told me she is super and has special powers. I know that confidence will be encouraged and supported here. I hope she takes this beyond this place….forever.

May we all be reminded today that we are super and have special powers. Everyone of us is created in the image of God and is blessed with power of the Holy Spirit. May this “special power” give you confidence and help you do good in the world .

What love!

Families and pets came together for the Blessing of the Animals & Family Service Sunday afternoon at St. David's Episcopal Church and School.

The beloved pets who share our homes and our lives, remind us of the goodness of God’s creation. This wonderful gift of companionship, and the call to care tenderly for all that God has made is a beautiful reminder of the blessings we have.

Thanks be to God for all creatures great and small, and for the joy they bring into our lives each day.

If you missed yesterday's "Baking with the Bible", it can be found on the St. David's You Tube Channel.

Baking with the Bible? Yes! This is a monthly opportunity to gather online, bake together with a message about God's love, a story and of course some baked yummies.

October's book, "God's Love is a Warm Cookie"- Sharing with Others Sweet as Can Be by Susan Jones, teaches us how sweet it is to share God's love. Each session talks about sharing what we bake with our neighbors as a reminder to love one another as Jesus loves us.

This month's recipe: Erins' Famous Chocolate Chunk Cookies. Erin passed away from a rare cancer a few months ago, leaving her husband, Vinnie and 2yr old daughter Birdie with memories and love. Erin shared her heart with everyone she met. Her recipe is a way to share both her love of baking and sweet soul. Erin's recipe and message is a perfect partner to our book for this month.
