What a week! Fair's over, we're all exhausted and trying to get back to normal. 5+ days, working a booth for about 17 hours a day. Still have some cleanup to do.
Thankful for the Ashaway Fire Department for not only chartering us, but also for letting us work alongside them in this booth, raising funds for our troop. Also thankful for Belmont Market for sponsoring our event and for the hospitality of the Washington County Fair staff. Especially thankful for the people of our community that stop by the booth and support us.
Couple highlights from our week...
Ty Herndon came up to our booth and gave us a pizza. I had no idea who he was until after. We see these people throughout the day, not always knowing who's who, then we're working in the booth, so we don't get to see much of the shows. So, forgive me if I didn't recognize the guy! He was friendly though, and it was a kind gesture.
Another highlight... we don't get much sleep during the week, so some of us, especially me, take naps in the chairs behind the booth. Every year, after the fact, I get pictures sent to me of me napping. It's an ongoing joke.
