Thank you to Ellie for making our backpack distribution her Junior National Honors Society service project! She raised over $1,000 which resulted in 30 full backpacks and all this wonderful school supplies!

Mercy Center remembers the legacy Dolly Parton has left not only in the music world but in the world of philanthropy. Dolly made the conscious choice to not be a billionaire by constantly donating to worthy causes across our country and the world. Our hearts are with Dolly’s friends, family, the Dollywood community, and all who are mourning this tremendous loss. Thank you Dolly for your work to end generational poverty and hunger in America.

We are all ready to go for the backpack giveaway tomorrow with over 1,600 bags packed! We are so grateful for our partnership with Community Karma and Kiwanis Club of Asbury Park, New Jersey that made this possible 💜

Thank you to the generous donors who have been bringing supplies all summer long! And for the several dedicated volunteers who put these bags together!

Abirah, an alum of Sisters Academy of New Jersey, is helping us set up our new Confidence Closet that will benefit the students of Sisters Academy! She is doing a wonderful job of setting it up like a store front so that our students can pick the items that they need with care and dignity. In honor of Hunger Action Month, Mercy Center is launching our first annual Food Fight to prove that a little bit of competition can help a lot of people! Join in on our fight to help end hunger and generational poverty within Monmouth County by competing to donate the most food, funds, or time.

Those that compete will have the chance of winning the following prizes: a t-shirt recognizing them as a Food Fight Champion, their name/team name added on a plaque, they will be entered into our October cash raffle which has three possible winners, and tickets to our Chefs’ Feast event in February!
