As kids started going back to school this week, our volunteers continued to hand out backpacks and school supplies to the community 📚🎒📝

From the excess we had for the giveaway, nearly 300 backpacks were given to:

A HUGE thank you to all of our amazing partners who helped make the 2026 Asbury Park Backpack Giveaway a successful and joyous day! ✨

On Saturday August 22nd, we gave out around 1,300 backpacks to families in the Greater Asbury Park area. Children and families enjoyed music, balloon art, face painting, hamburgers and hot dogs, free books from the Asbury Book Cooperative and the Asbury Park library, and more! 🎒📚♥️

Although the rain passed us on Saturday, we are so grateful to Mercy Center for providing us indoor space to host all the vendors, families, and volunteers. 🥰

Thanks to our partner, Mercy Center, we have plenty of room inside for all of you if it rains! 🌥️

And we have over 1,600 backpacks ready to giveaway!! 🎒

🎒 Almost 1,500 backpacks packed, and we couldn’t have done it without our incredible community! 🧡

A huge thank you to all of the volunteers who have given their time and energy to help us prepare for this year’s Backpack Drive, including volunteers from the Kiwanis Club of Asbury Park, Asbury Park Environmental Shade Tree Commission, Atonement Church, and so many others who have joined us along the way.

We’re also incredibly grateful for the generous backpack and school supply donations from the City of Asbury Park, Mercy Center, and Trinity Church of Asbury Park. Every donation has helped us get one step closer to making sure local students are ready for the new school year. 🎒✏️📚

And a very special thank you to Mercy Center for welcoming us into their space and giving us a home for our packing efforts. With the help of our volunteers and community partners, we’ve now packed nearly 1,500 backpacks!

But we’re not finished yet! 🙌

We still need volunteers to help us next week as we finish preparing, as well as for our main Backpack Drive distribution on August 22. Whether you’ve already volunteered or want to join us for the first time, we’d love to have you!

🎒 500 backpacks packed... and we're just getting started! 💙

Today, Community Karma kicked off backpack packing for our 2026 Asbury Park Backpack Drive with the help of an incredible Lutheran youth group!

Thanks to their hard work and dedication, the first 500 backpacks are ready to help local students start the school year prepared for success. We are so grateful for your support!

We're still looking for volunteers to help pack thousands more backpacks over the coming days. Whether you can join us for an hour or an entire shift, we'd love to have you!

💦 The lineup is here! 💦

Our 2026 Georgies Dunk Tank is packed with some incredible community members ready to take the plunge—all to help support the Community Karma Asbury Park Backpack Drive! 🎒

From local business owners and nonprofit leaders to volunteers, coaches, and community champions, each hour brings a new group of brave dunk tank participants. Come cheer them on, take your best shot, and help us raise money for school supplies for local students!

📦 They’re here!

The first 500 backpack and school supply kits have officially arrived, marking the beginning of this year's Community Karma Backpack Drive.

But we're not done yet.

Our goal is to provide 1,500 local students with the supplies they need to start the school year with confidence, and we need your help to get there.

🎄 Christmas is coming early... in July! ☀️

Join Community Karma and Little Dog Brewing Co. for our 3rd Annual Christmas in July on Thursday, July 23, from 4:00–7:00 PM! We'll be collecting new, unwrapped toys to support Community Karma's Asbury Park Backpack & Toy Drive. There will also be 50/50 raffles throughout the evening.

Whether you're stopping by to make a donation, enjoy a great local brewery, or simply spend time with the community, we'd love to see you there!
