A quick update from Colombia’s Pacific region. 🇨🇴

We are still collecting funds to support families affected by the earthquake, including Jaritza Narváez in Buenaventura and the Torres family in Guapi.

We have received some support, and we are very grateful to everyone who has contributed so far. But we still need more help before we can put together a meaningful donation package for these families.

That is what we are working toward now: raising enough to make the assistance genuinely useful when it reaches them.

These are families connected to the music, culture, and communities of Colombia’s Pacific region, and we want to make sure they are not forgotten as attention moves elsewhere.

If you can help, please donate through the link in our bio The CreatiVrole Project.

If donating is not possible right now, sharing this post can help us reach someone who may be able to contribute.

Thank you for continuing to support these communities.

We are asking for your help for Colombia’s Pacific communities.

The recent earthquake and strong seasonal winds have caused additional damage across a region where many smaller communities already face geographic isolation, limited infrastructure, and fewer resources for recovery.

The CreatiVrole Project has launched Colombia Pacific Earthquake & Creative Recovery, a community-focused effort supporting families, musicians, cultural workers, and small livelihoods that can easily be overlooked during a large emergency.

Our collaborators are helping us document specific needs.

In Juanchaco, F***y’s home and her restaurant, La Sazón de F***y, are the same place. Severe roof damage has affected both the family’s shelter and its livelihood.

In Guapi, the Torres family, deeply connected to the region’s marimba tradition, saw existing damage to their home worsened by the earthquake.

In Buenaventura, collaborators have shared the case of Jaritza Narváez, a young percussionist who recently lost both of her parents and whose family home was damaged.

These stories also help explain why cultural recovery matters.

Our team has worked with Colombian musicians and creative communities for years, including through Musical Getaways and its partnership with the Festival de Música del Pacífico Petronio Álvarez.

We want the people who sustain this extraordinary cultural heritage to receive attention when they need it most.

Campaign support may help with documented household repairs, tools and equipment, small family businesses, musicians and cultural workers, and the transportation and coordination required to reach smaller communities.

We will work through trusted local relationships, documented needs, local purchasing when practical, responsible distribution, and public reporting.

Protect the communities that protect the culture. 🇨🇴

🚨🚨🚨Cuba is facing an increasingly serious humanitarian and supply crisis, and we are asking our community to help.

Families across the island are enduring long blackouts, fuel shortages, rising food prices, and limited access to medicine, hygiene products, and other essential supplies.

The shipping situation is making these problems worse. Some containers have reached Cuban ports but cannot be moved and distributed efficiently because of fuel shortages, limited transportation, power failures, and infrastructure problems. Other Cuba-bound shipments have reportedly been delayed, rerouted, or returned to ports in other countries as recent sanctions and carrier suspensions make deliveries more difficult.

Havana Music Tours and The CreatiVrole Project are joining forces to support people and communities with whom we have built trusted relationships over many years.

Donations to the Cuba Creative Relief & Food Security Project may help provide food, hygiene products, permitted basic medicines, solar ovens, rechargeable lights, batteries, power banks, solar equipment, music supplies, and the transportation and local coordination needed to distribute these resources responsibly.

The CreatiVrole Project is a recognized 501(c)(3) public charity. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by U.S. law.

This is deeply personal to us. It is affecting our families, friends, musicians, educators, elders, children, and communities throughout Cuba.

Music is the soul of Cuba, but the reality on the ground is that many artists are struggling to get by. At The CreatiVrole Project, we don’t just send instruments, we show up.

Our humanitarian missions are about direct action. We’re on the ground in cities like Santiago de Cuba and Matanzas, delivering food, medicine, and school supplies directly to the families and musicians who keep these traditions alive. By providing basic necessities and small-scale infrastructure like solar power, we help ensure that the music never has to stop. ✨

Every artist deserves a community that has their back. Watch the video to see what we’re building together.

The CreatiVrole Project is a nonprofit that grew naturally out of our work through and .

Over the years, we’ve spent time with musicians, students, and communities where the level of talent is incredibly high, but access to instruments and basic resources is limited.

What started as bringing supplies in our luggage slowly became something more meaningful.

This project is a way for us to give back more intentionally and support creative communities with instruments, education, and practical resources, working directly with people on the ground.

We’re excited to start sharing this with you and to build it step by step.
