About Vanderhoof PTA:

We are a dedicated group of parents and teachers that volunteer to support the education and every day experience of Vanderhoof Students through awareness, fun and fundraising. For two years in a row we have raised more than $40,000 for new technology in the classroom and other enhancements. Annual fundraisers may contribute to everything from school supplies to activity scholarships, books and equipment, and parties to playground upgrades. We need your help! Can you spare an hour here and there to enhance your child's learning environment? Like our page and give us a call! You can call the office and they'll put you in touch with a PTA volunteer. About Vanderhoof Elementary:

Vanderhoof Elementary was built in 1969 and was named for Thomas D. Vanderhoof joined the teaching staff of Arvada High School in 1922 - two years after the school opened. Vanderhoof taught vocational agriculture and welding. He is remembered as a visionary and a mentor, and Arvada's first honored coach. Baseball, football, and basketball flourished under his leadership. He was also a member of the first Jefferson County School Board after reorganization. Vanderhoof Elementary is a K-5 school whose students live in the west Arvada/east Golden area of Jefferson County. Vanderhoof feeds into Drake Middle School and Arvada West High School. The mascot is the Roadrunner and the school colors are blue and yellow.
