🎄🎁 BIG KIDS HAVE WISH LISTS, TOO! 🎁🎄

Just because they're getting older doesn't mean they've outgrown the magic of Christmas. ❤️

Every holiday season, teenagers are among the hardest children to shop for through holiday giving programs. And unfortunately, many older kids fall outside program age limits or face additional barriers that make receiving support difficult.

But not at HCC.

At Hope, Connection and Community, we believe that growing up shouldn't mean being left out.

Our Santa's Workshop Program welcomes children and teens through age 18, and families don't need a referral from a school, an agency, or another organization to ask for help.

Why?

Because when a family finds the courage to ask for support, we don't believe they should have to jump through more hoops just to be heard. Life is already hard enough.

Our goal is simple: Remove the barriers. Preserve the dignity. Keep the magic alive. ❤️

And that includes our BIG KIDS!

Imagine being 15, 16, or 17 years old, watching your younger siblings excitedly open their Christmas gifts while wondering if there's anything under the tree for you.

We don't want a single teenager to feel forgotten.

They're still kids. They still have wishes. They still deserve the excitement of Christmas morning and the joy of knowing someone thought of them, too. But we can't make that happen without YOU.

❤️ Hey, HCC family. It's Julia. And today, I have something pretty special to celebrate with you.

Today is my birthday! 🎂

Now, most people might celebrate with a little getaway, a day off, some pampering, or a party surrounded by friends and family.

Me? I spent my birthday doing what I love most.
I spent it with YOU. ❤️
With our HCC families. Opening our doors, filling bags, sharing conversations, offering a little encouragement, and making sure the people who walked through our doors today left knowing someone cares.
And I thought to myself, what a beautiful way to spend another trip around the sun.

But the day wasn't quite over.

I came home exhausted, with a sick five-year-old in tow, after a long night of battling fevers and a cough that sounded like something straight out of a horror movie. (Parents, you know the one. 😅)

I was tired. My little one was tired. But there was still work to be done.
So, I opened my computer.
And there it was.
An email from the Richard Reed Foundation.
An email acknowledging the work we're doing, recognizing the difference HCC is making, and sharing that they believe in our mission enough to invest in it.

HCC WAS AWARDED A $5,000 GRANT!!! 🎉❤️
On my birthday, of all days!

Now, I know $5,000 might just look like a number to some people.
But let me tell you what I see when I look at that number.
I see 2,500 meals.
2,500 opportunities to fill an empty tummy.
2,500 moments when a parent can breathe a little easier knowing there's food for their children.
2,500 reminders to someone who might be struggling that they haven't been forgotten.
And that's what makes this gift so extraordinary.

Because behind every meal is a person. A family. A story. Someone doing their very best to make it through another day.
And every single one of those people matters to me.

I don't share this to make my birthday about me. (Although, let's be fair, I won't turn down a little birthday love! 😉❤️)

I share this because I want you to understand something about HCC.
This isn't just an organization I run.
It's a mission I carry in my heart.

It's the families I think about long after our doors close. It's the children I worry about when temperatures drop. It's the parents I wish I could do more for. It's the responsibility I feel to keep showing up, even on the hard days, the exhausting days, and yes, even on my birthday.

To the Richard Reed Foundation, thank you for seeing the heart behind our work, believing in our mission, and trusting HCC with this incredible $5,000 investment. Your generosity will reach far beyond our pantry shelves. It will reach into homes, onto dinner tables, and into the lives of families who need to know their community hasn't forgotten them.

Today, I got another year of life.
HCC got another opportunity to fight hunger.
And 2,500 meals are now one step closer to the families who need them.
I can't think of a better birthday gift than that. ❤️

Here's to another year of loving harder, serving bigger, and showing up for one another.

We welcome donations of children's winter coats, hats, gloves, and other cold-weather essentials! If your kiddos have outgrown their winter gear, we'd love to help those items find another little one to keep warm.

🎅🎁 SANTA'S HELPERS NEEDED! 🎄

One person donating a toy can make a child smile.

But imagine what could happen if an ENTIRE neighborhood, church, school, or workplace came together to make Christmas magical for children in need! 🎄

That's the kind of impact we're asking YOU to help us create!

Our Santa's Workshop Program has a BIG goal this year, and we're off to a slower start than we had hoped. We know our community has the heart to help us get there, but we need your help opening doors and reaching people we simply can't reach alone.

Here's how YOU can help us multiply the magic:

🏘️ YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD: Ask your property manager, HOA, or neighborhood group to organize a community toy drive! Imagine what could happen if every household donated just ONE toy!

⛪ YOUR CHURCH: Ask your church leadership to host a toy drive for HCC. One member making a donation is wonderful, but imagine the difference an entire congregation could make!

🏫 YOUR SCHOOL: Students, teachers, parents, coaches, and school leaders — this one's for you! Rally your classrooms, sports teams, dance teams, or entire school to collect toys for children in our community.

🏢 YOUR WORKPLACE: Whether you're a business owner, manager, or employee, YOU can be the person who brings a toy drive to your workplace. Imagine the impact of coworkers coming together for one beautiful cause!
