Artesia Historical Society

Artesia Historical Society This is the official page of the Artesia Historical Society of Artesia, CA. Follow us today as we bring you bits and pieces of our history!

Established in 1993, we are a non-profit organization committed to finding and preserving the history of Artesia. The village of Artesia was officially founded in 1875 when the first school opened and later officially incorporated into a city in 1959. The village was first a rural agricultural area that became involved with flower growing and later involved in the dairy industry in the 1920s. Arte

sia is also famous for being home to Little India, a cultural hub featured on Huell Howser's show "Visiting...With Huell Howser" in 1993.
