Every statistic represents a person, a family, a child, or a community whose life has been impacted by domestic violence.

Nearly 20 people every minute experience physical abuse by an intimate partner. One in four women and one in nine men will experience severe intimate partner violence in their lifetime. Yet only a fraction of those injured receive medical care, and thousands of calls for help are made every day across the country.

These numbers are more than data points—they are a reminder that domestic violence is a widespread public health and community issue that demands our attention, compassion, and action.

By supporting survivors, strengthening services, investing in prevention, and speaking out against abuse, we can help create safer communities where everyone has the opportunity to live free from violence.

If you or someone you know needs support, help is available. You are not alone. We are here for you.

If you’re being kept from sleeping on purpose, that’s not “relationship stress”—that’s control.

Sleep deprivation can be a deliberate abuse tactic used to disorient you, break down your ability to think clearly, and make it harder to resist or leave. Over time, it can seriously damage mental and physical health and increase long-term risks—sometimes in life-threatening ways.

“Just cope and push through” isn’t a real solution. What helps is safety planning: reaching out for support, documenting patterns when you can, and building a path to safety with people who understand. 🛡️📝

Have you ever realized something you thought was “normal” was actually a red flag? Share what helped you see it (or what you wish someone had told you). 💜

I’m struggling a bit with this lately. Definitely a struggle. But I’m trying to stay positive and keep on going. And keep believing that I’m going to be okay. Love and hugs everyone. 🫂❤️.
