October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 🎀

1 in 8 women will face breast cancer in their lifetime, and regular screenings help catch it early, when treatment is most effective.

Thanks to donors who supported our Excellence Campaign, Arroyo Grande Community Hospital installed a Hologic 3D mammography and biopsy system in 2022. Because of that support, women in our community can get advanced breast imaging close to home.

That's how Derek Baden, Senior Director of Cancer Care Services at Mission Hope Cancer Center - Arroyo Grande, describes the care available right here on the Central Coast. In his words: "Almost anything you can do at Stanford or UCLA regarding infusion and oncology, we can do right here at home."

Inside Mission Hope, patients find:
🩺 Expert oncology care and an infusion center
💊 An on-site pharmacy preparing each medication fresh, dosed for every patient
🧭 Nurse navigation from diagnosis through survivorship, free of charge
🧘 Cancer rehab with balance classes, Pilates, and even Thursday night line dancing
🚗 Two full-time drivers taking patients to and from appointments, at no cost
