Nelson County Animal Shelter We are here to promote and protect the health, safety, and welfare of both the pets and people of Nelson County.

Nelson County Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center. We are here to care for the homeless
and abandoned animals in our area. We consider the well being of our residents
as well as our animals as we strive to find home and/or rescues for our animals.

Shelter hours are M-F 10am to 1pm and Sat by appt only.
Animal Control Officers are on duty M-F 9am to 4pm and
can be reached at 434-264-7047. For emergency during these
hours and for emergency calls after hours please call 911
and dispatch will contact an the Officer on call.
