See you there!

See you there!

Do I hear... a rustle of binoculars? The shushing to hear a bird call? The unmistakable sound of people quietly listening to bird call apps to confirm an ID? 🦉

Yes, the birders are here! Or at least, they will be, and so can you! Everyone is welcome to come to our Thursdays Bird Walk with docent Bruce for an introduction to birds and birding. No binoculars or past experience necessary. Come to the Visitor Center patio at 9:30am every Thursday until about mid-October and enjoy an easy walk around the North Grove area, including the campground, meadow, and fire road.

REMINDER!

The first Optical Astronomy Night (with telescopes!) is this Thursday, May 8th, at 8:00pm at the Scenic Overlook! To get to the Scenic Overlook, drive straight after you enter the park to get on the Parkway Road. Within a few miles there will be a sign on the right to turn to the parking.

Come prepared to relax under the stars with your camping chair and blanket! We recommend coming early to get a parking spot closer to the telescopes.

Dogwood update!
Some of the first trees are juuust starting to bloom, so we’d recommend giving it another week before coming up to see them.
