Thank you for all you have done to support AACC students!
Five years ago, we started the Hungry for Success Scholarship at Anne Arundel Community College with one simple goal. Helping students pursue their education without the added stress of tuition costs.
Since then, we've been fortunate to help one to two students each semester attend AACC and continue working toward their goals. Not everyone has the opportunity or financial ability to pay for college, and we wanted to do our small part to help make higher education more accessible.
One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been receiving letters from scholarship recipients each year. Reading about their experiences, challenges, accomplishments, and the obstacles they've overcome is both inspiring and humbling. Their stories remind us why this scholarship matters.
I was fortunate enough to have grandparents who paid for my college education as long as I stayed in-state. Because of that support, I was able to begin my college journey at Anne Arundel Community College. Explore different paths in a small classroom environment, and ultimately discover the major and career I wanted to pursue. Creating this scholarship has been my way of paying that opportunity forward.
Today, we had the privilege of celebrating the retirement of AACC's president. Having graduated from AACC in 2010, it's incredible to see how much the campus has grown and evolved over the years. Her dedication to students and commitment to enriching their educational experience has left a lasting impact on the college and the community.
Education changes lives, and we're proud to play a small role in helping students write their own success stories.
