There are two possible answers to this week's Where's This? Wednesday. The photo is Lake Accotink from the Gerry Connolly Cross County Trail.
Obviously, the CCT was named after the late Gerry Connolly, representative for Virginia's 11th congressional district. 🤔 But how did Lake Accotink get its name?
The name “Accotink” is derived from an Algonquian word meaning “at the end of the hill,” referring to the name of the largest Native American village in the area.
