Day 3 at NAMICon — and what a way to close out the conference.

Today focused on where mental health advocacy, research, lived experience and community go from here.

On the main stage:
– Dr. Deanna Kelly’s closing plenary explored the future of mental healthcare, research, innovation, and the importance of connecting science with the real experiences of individuals and families
– Conversations throughout the day reinforced the importance of advocacy, collaboration and continuing to build systems of care rooted in connection and support

Across the conference:
– Attendees reflected on lessons learned and conversations that will continue long after NAMICon ends
– Community spaces continued to foster connection, encouragement and shared purpose
– Advocates, caregivers, providers, families and people with lived experience came together around one shared goal: improving mental health for all

What makes NAMICon special is not just what happens on stage — it’s what happens between sessions, in conversations, in community and in the moments where people realize they are not alone.

Thank you to everyone who made meaningful.

Day 2 at NAMICon.

Today centered on lived experience, storytelling and the power of using your voice to create change.

On the main stage:

– Actor and musician Joshua Bassett spoke openly about identity, pressure, recovery and the importance of authenticity and asking for support

Across the conference:
– Attendees shared their own stories and perspectives
– Conversations challenged stigma and encouraged openness
– Community spaces continued to foster connection, healing and support

When people share their stories, it creates space for others to feel seen — and sometimes to share their own.

What a start!

Today set the tone with powerful conversations about identity, belonging and what it means to show up fully — for ourselves and for each other.

On the main stage:
– Blake Mycoskie shared a deeply personal perspective on success, pressure and self-acceptance

- Dr. Alfiee reminded us that supporting youth mental health starts with everyday care, connection and intention

– NAMI’s Dr. Christine Crawford and Dan Gillison were joined by NAMI Ambassadors Shameik Moore and Da'Vinchi and Dr. Anthony Estreet from the National Association of Social Workers. They had powerful conversation on Black men’s mental health, creating space for honesty, reflection and shared healing.
