Did you think that summer camp was just for kids? TANG is for all ages. Their Young Adults program is a uniquely immersive experience to connect with other Taiwanese Americans navigating adulthood and identity like you, from across the East Coast and beyond.

Did you know that many of the people attending this annual retreat are from the DMV area? Whether you’ve been on the fence or you're just learning about this program for the first time, check out this info session to find out more and meet people you’d be spending the summer with.

July 1 – 5 at West Chester University, PA, with options for staying on campus (resident) or off-campus (commuters, 1-5 days).

So glad we could get together recently to practice our Taiwanese! 🗣️💬

It was great seeing both familiar faces and new friends come out to learn, share, and practice together. Thank you to everyone who joined us, whether to just chat in Tâi-gí (台語) or practice tones and learn words together.

We know many of you have been asking how to learn Taiwanese, and we are happy to share this opportunity with you. The Washington DC Taiwanese School (WDCTS) has now brought back adult Taiwanese language classes for their 2026–2027 term, starting Aug 30! 🎉

Perhaps you’ve picked up bits and pieces from family, or you’ve never spoken Taiwanese before at all but are interested in connecting through our language and culture. WDCTS is offering both basic and beginner-level Taiwanese classes, so check it out if you’re interested.

📢 Community Event Spotlight 📢
The Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning (TCML) and Washington DC Taiwanese School (WDCTS) are hosting their end-of-term recital and Taiwanese night market next weekend.

They’ve invited the TAP-DC community to join them for a fun afternoon of night market snacks, games, and performances from students and other members of our Taiwanese American community.

For anyone interested in learning Mandarin and/or Taiwanese, this is a great opportunity to stop by and find out more about their adult language programs (in-person and online). They offer a variety of other cultural classes as well.

Still feeling the flow from our recent Chinese calligraphy workshop.

It was a peaceful morning of practice as we learned and refined our strokes, exploring the beauty of this traditional art form. A big thank you to our guest instructor for sharing his expertise and guiding us through each stroke!
