Congrats, Kiana! 🎓

Becoming a mom during high school brought major challenges, and at one point, Kiana wasn’t sure she’d be able to return for her senior year. But with the support of Communities In Schools of Tennessee and her site coordinator, Ms. Takeisha, she found the encouragement, resources, and support system she needed to keep going.

From helping provide baby essentials and replacing lost car seats after a flood, to creating a support network so Kiana could stay in class, CIS helped make sure she never had to navigate this journey alone.

Now, Kiana is thriving academically, balancing three part-time jobs, leading her peers, founding her school’s first dance team, and preparing for her next chapter after being accepted to the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.

Her story is proof that when students have trusted adults and the right support, amazing things can happen. ✨

Help us celebrate Kiana’s incredible journey by dropping “Congrats” in the comments!

Hats off to the 2026 Permian High School - ECISD graduates! This collage of photos features students who our Campus Coordinator at Permian had the honor of mentoring, guiding, teaching, and leading since they were in 6th Grade! The founder of Communities In Schools Bill Milliken said "Programs don't change people, relationships do." These graduates and all of our students get to experience that motto everyday with our campus coordinators at their schools.

Congratulations, Areanna! 🎉

🎓✨ Celebrating Joana — Class of 2026! ✨🎓

Joana is counting down the days until graduation, and we couldn’t be more proud of her journey! She shares that CIS of Kalamazoo has been a place she can turn to when she feels lost—a space where someone is always there to listen, support, and guide her forward. Through it all, Joana has found encouragement, stability, and the confidence to keep moving toward her goals.

Congratulations!

From CIS alum to Georgia Tech graduate. 🎓🎉

We’re celebrating Justin Ayiih, a proud CIS Atlanta alum, who graduated from Georgia Tech on May 7 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

Justin’s journey reflects what’s possible when students are supported, believed in, and given the space to grow. As the first person in his immediate family to earn a college degree, this milestone represents years of hard work, perseverance, and community support. 💛

Justin is also part of the CIS Atlanta family today—working with us as a part‑time IT Technician since 2024—and we’re excited to share that he’ll be continuing his journey this summer as a Data Analyst Intern with the Betty & Davis Fitzgerald Foundation through Partnership for Innovation.

🌟 We’re incredibly proud of you, Justin. Your story is exactly why we do this work.
