✈️ Our HFPA team had an inspiring week at the NCOA Age+Action Conference in Arlington.

We were honored to co‑present alongside our funder and our peer in the Colorado coalition, sharing Hawai‘i’s journey in building our state’s falls prevention coalition. 🙌

Our executive committee also completed an intensive training on Building Toward Coalition Sustainability, acquiring new tools to support long‑term, community‑driven falls prevention across our islands. 💪

🌺 Calling all Hawai’i Family Caregivers and Advocates! 🌺

We’re excited to share that the Hawai’i Family Caregiver Coalition (HFCC) is hosting their Annual Caregiver Awareness Day at the Capitol. Family caregivers play a vital role in keeping our kūpuna safe, especially when it comes to falls prevention.

Please join and advocate alongside HFCC! Attendees will be meeting with state legislators to support much-needed policies and programs for caregivers and older adults across Hawai’i. 🤝💙

🗒️ Small changes and adjustments go a long way!

➡️ Here are 10 fall-prevention tips from AARP to help keep your home hazard-free!

1. Light it up!
2. Raise up your low bed
3. Reassess your rugs
4. Update your shower or tub
5.Upgrade (and raise) your Toilet
6. Think about your stairs
