E Hoʻomau opened the 2026 Annual Meeting this morning.

Kamuela Enos, Director of the Office of Indigenous Knowledge and Innovation at the University of Hawaiʻi System, kicked off the week with a look at how Indigenous knowledge systems and university co-designed ecosystems of innovation work with regional communities.

We also welcomed first-time attendees at the Newcomers Meet N' Greet, the first stop in a week of learning and connection.

👏 Congratulations to Gloria Greene, 2026 winner of the Herbert B. Chermside Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Contribution to Research Administration.

For over 20 years, Gloria has been a pillar of the SRAI community, starting with her foundational work establishing the Alabama Chapter. Her leadership carried her through roles as Southern Section President, At-Large Board Member, and ultimately SRAI President. She's enriched the membership experience as a frequent speaker, a dedicated Catalyst author, and the creator of the daily digest many of us rely on to navigate the ever-changing research administration landscape: work recognized in 2017 with the Hartford-Nicholsen Award. Now serving as Assistant Vice President for Contracts & Grants, Research Compliance at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Gloria's influence extends well beyond SRAI, leaving its mark on national organizations including COGR, FDP, and NSLS through her advocacy for research efficiency, faculty support, and compliance infrastructure.
