We have been made aware that many have experienced extended wait times to receive a hotel last night due to cancellations and delays. We want to assure you that we are disappointed in the time I took the company to get several of you hotels. We would like to hold the company accountable by filing grievances for any flight attendant who was unable to get to a hotel last night in a timely manner.

If you are unfamiliar with the Grievance process, please feel free to contact Phylicia Christmas with any questions or concerns.
She can be emailed at [email protected]

If you would like to go forward with the Grievance process, please fill out this google form.

If you feel like you experienced another contract violation that is not related to a hotel issue and would like to inquire about filing a grievance, please email all details to [email protected]

🚨WINTER STORM HERNANDO🚨

As many of you are aware, Winter storm Hernando is expected to hit DCA and PHL bases starting tonight, 2/22/26 and into tomorrow, 2/23/26. The company has already started canceling flights for today’s and tomorrow's operation.

The company has officially declared an IROP for 2/22/26-2/23/26. Please review Section 7. E in the contract. Watch your duty and block times and make sure to take screenshots of everything on company sanctioned apps (CrewMobile). If you're unsure of something please contact the union. We are here to help keep you contractually protected! Reference the CBA herehttps://afapsa.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/AFA-PSA-CBA-7.23.2019.pdf

You may experience long wait times when contacting Crew Scheduling. Please document everything such as call logs, flica screenshots, and even CrewMobile notifications as it could be helpful in the future. If you are unable to make contact with crew scheduling please email the scheduling supervisor and your Inflight Supervisor. If it is an urgent issue, please reach out to the on-call Inflight Supervisor.

Reserve flight attendants MUST contact crew scheduling to be released from duty. If you cannot reach scheduling, call your inflight supervisor or the on-call inflight supervisor. Screenshot all attempts at communication.

Document your calls and hold times to crew scheduling. Take screenshots of your phone log and FLICA. All screenshots should be of Flica or CrewMobile.

Bizhero has NOT been activated. The company has recently implemented a direct extension to reach the hotel coordinators. (833)-443-3905 EXT 3.

You may experience trouble commuting. Please remember to follow the commuter policy and take pictures and screenshots of everything. Keep in close contact with crew scheduling and your supervisor if you have trouble making it to base. If you live in base and it's unsafe to get to work due to dangerous road conditions please document any road closures or county safety advisories.

Please reach out if you have any questions.

DCA Employee Lot Update:

We have received numerous concerns about the condition of the Crew Lot at DCA. We have been advocating on your behalf with the company and the airport to develop a quick solution to ensure your safety in the employee lot. Today we met with the company to address these issues. If you incurred expenses that involved transportation to and from the airport to the crew lot, or your car was stuck in the crew lot due to ice/snow, and you had to use Uber as a result.
Here's how you can submit your reimbursement
Go to work day and submit under MISC
Include “Uber to/from crew lot or work.”
We assure you that we are still working diligently to improve the safety conditions for the employee lot.
If you need further assistance, please don’t be afraid to reach out. (844) 423-2232 Ex

In solidarity,
Phylicia, Joe, and Bronwyn.

Details on Flight 5342 Memorial Thursday, Jan 29 at 5pm
We’ve been working to solidify our remembrance for Ian, Danasia, and everyone we lost on Flight 5342 for the one year anniversary.

We will be moving our AFA memorial to 5pm ET, due to several events for the families and airport at DCA. We will hold the Flight 5342 memorial to honor our heroes Terminal 2, on the North terrace outside Door 6.

Additionally, ALPA will hold a memorial at 2pm ET at their headquarters in Tysons Corner. (A shuttle will depart the airport at 1pm and return at 3pm.)

We hope to post full details tomorrow, but wanted to let you know about the time to change as early as possible.

Remember, there is no single or “right” way to mark this anniversary. Whatever you may be experiencing is valid. If this time brings emotions that feel heavier to carry alone, support is available. Confidential AFA EAP support exists specifically for moments like this, offering understanding from those who know our profession and the unique challenges we face. AFA EAP can be reached at 800-424-2406.

Thank you for the care you show one another and for the professionalism you bring to every flight. We are grateful for your dedication and proud to fly with you.

Together, we continue to honor the legacy of Flight 5342 not only in remembrance, but in the way we support one another every day.

Dear Flight Attendants,

As we approach the arrival of Winter Storm Fern, we anticipate operational impacts across the system, including DCA. This weekend, all bases may experience significant snow and/or ice, so it is important to be prepared and aware of contractual limitations and available resources.

Please review the information below carefully and keep it accessible during your trip.
