On Saturday in the midst of the horrible storm remnants hitting rural Mississippi I saw a post about 6 tiny babies on the side of a country road. Cold wet alone in a wooded area immediately felt compelled to try to find help to find them ! Not being local to the area I begged on the post and several wonderful woman jumped into action. Candace and Jamie were to look! Candace scoured the woods for hours and Jamie went back multiple times too but only 3 were found. Later that night they returned - yesterday for many hours Candace went back and Michelle and Audrey also searched through the woods, knocking on doors and asking passersby who were local if they saw them or a momma dog ! No luck we wonder what happened to them … like keeping us up at night worrying. Did someone pick the others up? Why would they leave three ? Did they pick them up with good intentions ? Did an animal get them … the not knowing is so hard !! Please if you know anything about the other three ? The momma dog ? Anything please let us know asap !! Please pray for the missing three and these babies. They were soaking wet, scared, hungry and covered in fleas. Now ONLY 3 are warm, dry, eating and playful and their momma and siblings deserve that too ! Thank you to the wonderful women who spent their weekend in the wet muddy woods looking for these babies. WE PRAY WE CAN FIND THE OTHERS!!

🐾 DOGS ARE FAMILY AND FAMILY IS FOREVER. ❤️

One of the hardest parts of rescue is watching a dog lose the only family they’ve ever known.

Dogs don’t understand financial struggles, busy schedules, changing circumstances, or why the people they love suddenly aren’t there anymore.

They only know that yesterday they had a home. A familiar voice. A favorite place to sleep. People they trusted. A life they thought was forever.

And then suddenly, everything changes.

Dogs feel loss. They experience confusion, fear, loneliness, and grief. They form deep emotional bonds with their families. They love without conditions, without expectations, and without ever wondering whether we’re worth the effort.

Shouldn’t they deserve that same love in return?

When you adopt a dog, you’re making a promise. Not just for the puppy years. Not just while they’re healthy, young, convenient, or easy.

You’re making a promise for the gray muzzles, the expensive vet visits, the slower walks, the accidents, the difficult days, and the years when they need you most.

I think about my own Shiloh. She was returned when she was just three months old. A puppy whose first family had already decided she wasn’t there forever. We fostered her and then adopted her and now almost 12 years later, I cannot imagine our lives without her.

She has been loved beyond measure. She has grown older surrounded by the people who adore her. Now in her senior years, our promise to her hasn’t changed.

She is ours. For every single day of her life.

That’s what forever is supposed to mean.

At Stray Network Animal Rescue, we believe every dog deserves more than simply a place to live. They deserve security. Patience. Compassion. A family that sees them as a lifelong commitment, not a temporary responsibility.

We believe that before giving up on an animal who has given you their whole heart, you owe them every reasonable effort to find a way to keep your promise.

Because while a dog may only be part of your life, to that dog, you are their whole world.

And when that world disappears, they feel it.

To everyone who has adopted and loved a rescue dog through every stage of life, thank you. To those who have opened their hearts to dogs who have lost their families, thank you for showing them that love can be found again.

Every dog deserves a forever that actually means forever. ❤️🐾

🐾 HOW is this handsome boy still waiting for his forever family?! 🐾

Meet WHOBRIS! 🤍🐶

Whobris is now 10 months old, about 50 pounds, and somehow this gorgeous, goofy, fun-loving boy is STILL waiting for someone to choose him. 🥺

And just look at that face! 😍 Those beautiful eyes, that big happy smile, and the adorable head tilt — Whobris is the kind of dog whose personality shines through before you even meet him.

Whobris is a happy, playful, affectionate boy who loves being part of whatever is going on. While his brother JoJo tends to hang back and observe first, Whobris is the one who enthusiastically jumps right into the fun! ❤️

He loves playing and chasing his foster dog siblings, helping with the gardening 🌱😂, keeping an eye on the neighborhood, and greeting the people who pass by. He has even lived peacefully with Max the cat! 🐱

How amazing is Esther!! She’s got her fight ready and she’s battling against the odds every day! We are optimistic ( cautiously) that she’s getting stronger and will be one of the rare cases to beat hepatazoon and overcome! Dr Katie’s ability to diagnose the rare condition, the excellent love and care from her foster mom Michelle and all the love, prayers support and donations from you all are the how!!
