End-of-Year Message from
the WIFLE President

As we close out another year, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each member, partner, and supporter of Women in Federal Law Enforcement (WIFLE). Your commitment, resilience, and belief in our mission continue to anchor this organization and ensure that the voices and contributions of women in federal law enforcement remain visible and valued.

This year brought both opportunities and challenges across the federal landscape. Many agencies have faced shifting priorities—particularly around workforce initiatives, diversity and equity efforts, and budget constraints. Even in these moments of transition, WIFLE has worked with intention to remain engaged, relevant, and steadfast in our support of the women who serve. While progress has moved more slowly at times, our commitment has not wavered. We have embraced patience, knowing that doors will reopen and conversations will resume when the time is right. And when they do, WIFLE will be ready—with experience, partnership, and solutions that strengthen the future of federal law enforcement.

Despite the broader environment, this year we saw meaningful movement within our own community:

Sustained engagement across our membership, with a strong network of women and allies continuing to mentor, collaborate, and support one another.

A successful scholarship and awards season, including $25,000 awarded in scholarships in 2025, recognizing outstanding students and emerging law enforcement leaders.

The continued success of the Julie Y. Cross Memorial Golf Tournament, which raised $22,000 for the WIFLE Scholarship Program, helping fund opportunities for future leaders.

Growing visibility across national panels, conferences, and professional networks, reinforcing WIFLE’s role as a trusted voice and partner.

Stronger partnerships with key organizations working collaboratively to strengthen our collective impact.

Ongoing community work, including the efforts of the WIFLE Engagement and Community Impact Program, which supported several community organizations dedicated to serving women, children, and families in need.

Perhaps most importantly, WIFLE continues to be a place where women in our profession find encouragement, connection, and a shared dedication to advancing the next generation. Even in a quieter year for large-scale initiatives, our strength has remained in the relationships we cultivate and the integrity with which we lead.

As we prepare for the year ahead, we do so with optimism. The landscape may continue to evolve, but WIFLE’s mission remains constant: to support, recognize, and elevate the women who protect our nation and uphold justice every day. We will continue to stand ready—patient, prepared, and committed—for the opportunities on the horizon.

Thank you for your unwavering support and for all you do to serve your communities and this country. It is an honor to lead this organization and to stand alongside each of you.

Wishing you a peaceful, joyful, and restorative holiday season—and a strong, inspiring start to the new year.

With gratitude,

Catrina M. Bonus

I’m pleased to share that, through our WIFLE Engagement & Community Impact (WECI) program and with the generous support and sponsorship of WAEPA, WIFLE made a $2,000 donation to Bread for the City in Washington, DC, in support of their Holiday Helpings 2025 program.

For Thanksgiving, Bread for the City provided thousands of families with culturally inclusive Thanksgiving meal kits, ensuring that neighbors across DC could celebrate the season with dignity, nourishment, and hope. This donation helped make that possible and reflects WIFLE’s commitment—through our WECI program—to uplifting the communities we serve and supporting families during a time of year when the need is especially great.

It’s heartwarming to share moments like this with you, as they reflect the spirit of service and compassion that WIFLE represents.
