After our usual summer break, the Arlington Garden Club (Washington State) will resume monthly meetings/lunch the second Monday of each month. Our next meeting is Monday, Spt 14th at 11:00, $25, at Gleneagle Country Club, Arlington. We look forward to another exciting year! 🙂🌱

Volunteers needed!!! 🌱Gardeners Sharing Abundance (GSA) is a community group that needs more volunteers this summer to help plant, water and w**d the community garden at Andrew Hay!

Many of our Arlington Garden Club members volunteer. Last year this garden plot raised over 15,000 lbs of produce that was donated to the Arlington Food Bank. Volunteers meet at the garden on Tuesday and Friday mornings (8-10). Some volunteers work both mornings, some once a week, and others as their schedules allow.

There is great camaraderie amongst the volunteers and the two hours go quickly! Who knew that w**ding could be so rewarding and fun! 🙂 For more information contact Linda at [email protected] or Heinz at [email protected].

Congratulations to Kian Soh who received this year’s Arlington Garden Club Roberta Lothian Member of the Year Award. Kian is a Master Gardener with an amazing knowledge of gardening that she freely shares with others. She also shares her knowledge by writing monthly articles that are published on the club’s website. She has successfully co-chaired our annual plant sale. Her leadership has made this event an incredible success in recent years. She is also one of our garden club members who works diligently with Gardeners Sharing Abundance to maintain their community garden at Andrew Hay, which raises fresh produce for the Arlington Food Bank.

The Arlington Garden Club will be having a raffle today for this beautiful chicken coop, May 9th, as part of its Spring Plant Sale happening now, downtown Arlington (Wa) City Hall Plaza. The lucky ticket will be drawn at 1:15 today! Thank you Michael Crossley (mc2sheds.com) for building and donating the coop. Proceeds for today’s plant sale support the AGC Scholarship Program and other community projects!
