Last weekend, two of our veteran members had the opportunity of a lifetime to not only attend but also receive special recognition at the UFC Freedom 250 White House event!
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation partnered with the UFC to organize this portion of the event. Representatives from Tunnel to Towers requested two ACPD officers and two ACFD firemen who responded to the Pentagon on 9/11. This honor comes fresh off the heels of the ACPD losing its second officer, Cpl. Barry Foust, to 9/11-related cancer, following the loss of Harvey Snook in 2016.
Over the course of the three days prior to the event, Det. Ohr and Captain Feltman spent time with fellow first responders from across the nation, as well as a group of legendary Medal of Honor recipients. One of their favorite experiences was speaking with heroes like Kyle Carpenter, who jumped on a gr***de in Afghanistan to save his fellow Marines.
