Arlington Youth Council

Arlington Youth Council The Arlington Youth Council is a group representing the youth, who advise the Mayor and City Council about matters related to youth in our community.

The Arlington (WA) Youth Council was founded September, 2016, as part of an American's Best Communities initiative. We hope to encourage young people to make meaningful contributions to their communities and the region. The following are members of the 2016 AYC: Olivia Walker, Cole Crammer, Alec Villa, Zoe Tapper, Zack Bailey, Mikayla Beckley, and Morgan Bryson.

Arlington Youth Council recently presented a project on the dangers of va**ng to a class of 7th grade students at Post Middle School. The project created an interactive simulation game to help teens understand the dangers of va**ng. Through this game, teens were able to see the outcomes of their decisions and learn more about the risks they face.

The youth council is structured to create an essential link among the city's teens, the community, and the city government. Do you know a youth in Arlington looking to make a difference? The Arlington Youth Council is now accepting applications for the upcoming year! Get involved and help shape the future of your community.
